I am still giddy that Jen asked me to be a part of her SFYTT team. She is such a sweetie! I had *so* much fun with this sketch. I knew that I wanted to use my new "Tea Party" DSP from SU!, but I don't have the coordinating set, so I had to get creative. This particular paper reminds me of fabric, so I decided to go for a *Grandma's Button Box* kindof a feel. I stitched around the perimeter of the green piece and then repeated the stitching up on the top strip, but replacing the straight stitch for a zig-zag. I knew I wanted each circle to have a bit of depth and dimension, so I used different colors and elements for each one, but keeping it cohesive. If you look closely on the green butterfly, you can see a tiny button. I have had these for about a decade and this is something that I *definitely* have been hoarding. I have never been able to find buttons that small since.
I used the sentiment from Verve's Filigree Fantasy set. I think it pulled it all together nicely. The tiny butterflies have Martha Stewart pearl gems in the center. I used my 1 1/4 inch and 1 3/8 inch circle punches from SU! for the circles and my Martha Stewart punches for the butterflies and flowers. I used buttons from my stash and a bit of crochet thread for the buttons. Everything is secured to it's circle using either liquid glue or glue dots. I had *so* much fun making this card. Even though I am exhausted, it is so relaxing being able to sit and create.
This is such a fun sketch! I hope you will all get a chance to play. You can check out the other fab creations from the rest of the gals:Jen and KirstenAmy Shannan Carole Susan Amy .
