So...when I first had a good look at the Ski Slope DSP it really reminded me of the curtains I had sewn for my stamp area. Stampin' Up! had come to my house in October of 2007 to photograph my stamp space and my curtains were photographed as well. I mentioned it in my blog that the paper had an uncanny resemblance to the curtains, but I didn't think much more about it. Then my December issue of Stampin' Success arrived and I stared at the cover thinking something seemed super familiar. Finally it dawned on me that the fabric that the projects are photographed on is the *EXACT* fabric that I made my curtains out of. You can see the curtains in the background of the magazine. The sun was shining through so they look more yellow.
What do you think? Am I crazy or is it a coincidence? Anyway...I noticed that the fabric on the table that the chipboard is photographed on in the current Idea Book and Catalog is one of the "Autumn Vine" DSP patterns. Like I said...things that make you go hmmmmm......

Anyway...I decided to play along in Jen's SFYTT and use the Ski Slope paper. I also used the Old Saint Nick Rub-Ons and Alpine Ribbon. Once I had applied the rubon to the acetate, I frosted the edges with my Cotton White StazOn. There isn't any stamping on this one. I also acutally used SU! buttons on my card. Isn't that funny that they make buttons to match and I rarely use those buttons. I figured I should use my stash. Thanks for fluttering by!
Supplies:
Old Saint Nick Rub-Ons
Ink: Cotton White StazOn
Paper: Ski Slope DSP, Confetti White
Accessories: Neutrals Buttons, Linen Thread, foam squares, Alpine ribbon, acetate, silver brads
That's not a coincidence, that's the mark of someone realizing you've got great style and taste and putting it into a marketing plan! :) I love those stripes by the way. Who makes the fabric?
ReplyDeleteAND, Thank you sooooo very much for the blog candy!! I just LOVE all of the K&CO stuff! That pattern isn't available here that I've seen anywhere so I feel very lucky to have won! You're the best, Kelly! Thanks again! :)
Hugs,
Elaine
That's pretty wild Kelly. I love the curtains, by the way. You're one of my favorite designers and I'm glad I found your blog...you're at the top of my list now. Thanks for the inspiration you always provide me. Your name alone is amazing. Love the card, by the way.
ReplyDeleteLove the popped up layer and your rub on, and of course the whole darn card!! You make me crazy with your fabulous designs (in a good way of course!).
ReplyDeleteLove the "hmmm" story as well....hmmmm.
Hugs,
Amy
GREAT card, Kelly! ... a great way to feature the rub-ons!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your curtain story! Sounds like YOU inspire Stampin' Up! in more ways than one!
Very pretty card :)
ReplyDeleteThat is funny and cool! It really does prove that inspiration comes from everything around us!! You have GREAT taste!!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous btw :)
How did you get the lovely white border around your rub on? Love the card and I am sure Stampin Up takes their style sense from the stylish!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Elaine - it's not a coincidence at all! But it would have been nice to get a heads up or thank you from SU! before they made the paper available. I would love to know who makes the fabric, too, or where you got it. I'd love to find more boutique fabric stores with fun selections - all we have here is Joanns...
ReplyDeleteLove your card, too!
Great card and fun mmmmhmmmm....
ReplyDeleteKiller card Kelly and...like I've said before, you should just work for SU and get credit for inspiring them and the rest of the world! I remember you saying how the new "in-colors" reminded you of your curtains! Who knew! I think they should have said something acknowledging you and your curtains. Love the "scrappy" card without stamping! Still has your signature great style but no stamps!
ReplyDeleteHaha- very cool!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card...unfortunately, probably NOT a coincidence..and you will probably NEVER get credit for it...but we ALL KNOW you are FABULOUS!! YOu go girl!!
