Papertrey Ink June Release Countdown Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 one of the Papertrey Ink June release countdown! I have a BIG post today featuring some beautiful new products that you're sure to love! I have three cards to share using the new Graceful Butterflies stamp set and one using the new Vintage Postage stamp set. As you can see from my first card, I used it on MORE than just one card; in fact....you'll be seeing it used in MANY different ways over the next few days! ha ha! I'm a sucker for a postal theme so I love having any excuse to use stamps and postmarks!

The new Graceful Butterflies stamp set features 4 different butterflies, three of which are shown on this card. The 4th butterfly is smaller than the other 4, so I chose not to use it on this card. I die cut a bunch of butterflies and had so much fun stamping them in different in color combinations! I actually didn't have any end-goal in mind, but rather just stamping them and seeing how they turned out!

The sentiment is also from the new Graceful Butterflies stamp set; this particular set has quite a few sentiments, and some have coordinating dies. This one doesn't, so I heat embossed it in gold and tore each end of the strip for an organic look.

I used the postage stamps and the image on the top right corner that are included in the Vintage Postage stamp set.

I always love a bold, tone-on-tone background so I die cut the background panel using the Cover Plate: Decorative Circles Die from Pinefeather cardstock. I also die cut the oval frame using the Pierced Feature Frames: oval and layered that over the top. All of that is layered onto an A2 sized piece of Pinefeather cardstock.

From there, I had so much fun adding the butterflies and postage stamps here and there to create visual movement.

My second card using the Graceful Butterflies stamp set is bright and fresh! I used the new Script Stencils and the new Penciled Outlines to create the background. The new Script Stencils come in both horizontal and vertical orientations.

This particular sentiment is included in the Graceful Butterflies stamp set and has the coordinating die! I always enjoy when a sentiment has a coordinating die so the design possibilities open up!

I bent the wings of the butterflies upward to create the look of flight and movement. I also tucked in another postage stamp, of course!

I added some glitter to the centers of the butterflies and a few sparkling clear sequins for shine!

My third card using the butterfly is simpler in layout, but I really like the "storebought" feel, go figure! ha ha! It's hard to see in the photos, but I layered the Berry Branches Stencil Collection and the new Script Background stencil for visual depth. I used a very light hand on the berries so that you could see the script.

I love this particular sentiment; this is another one that doesn't have the die, so I stamped it directly onto the background panel.

I used the Into the Blooms: Peonies as a landing place for the pair of butterflies.

I cut the panel to 3 3/4 inches by 5 so that the border would be bigger. A trio of sparkling clear sequins finish off this simple design.

My final card for today features the new Vintage Postage stamp set using more than just the stamps! ha ha! This particular set comes with an assortment of line art images that you can color using any medium of your choice.

I chose to use Copic markers to color the images, trying my best to match the cardstock. I really like the bold sentiments that are included in this set; there are three sentiments like the one shown here, and some fun scripty sentiments like : mailed with love, sent with love!

I had a few extra peonies so they are added to this card above the sentiment. I also used the new Penciled Outlines stamp set for the rings over the sentiment. I've been having loads of fun using this set on quite a few cards for this release! It's one of those basics that you didn't know you needed, but can't seem to put down!
That finishes things off for today, but please stop by again tomorrow for day 2 of the countdown! Thanks for fluttering by!
