May your days be Merry & Bright!

Happy December! The countdown to Christmas has officially begun! I've got 3 trees up and 3 left to go, but they are the 3 easiest so I'm feeling confident! LOL! The other day I was out doing some browsing and I spied some super cute wrapping paper. I REALLY wanted to buy it, but I have SO much paper that I resisted. I decided to make a card with the wrapping paper as inspiration instead!  The paper had a really cute gnome/elf type person, so I knew that Holiday Gnomes stamp set would be perfect.
The gnome was surrounded by a half garland of greenery so I got to work creating a few elements that I thought would work nicely. To begin, I stamped the greenery from Christmas Candles stamp set in some assorted greens; I used the "rock and roll" technique so that I could get some variations for contrast and realism. I knew that I would need some type of greenery with some roundness so that I could recreate the half garland. The leaf die from the Fall Foliage Confetti Cuts was the perfect fit; I just used the back side, too!

Once they were all cut, I splattered some white paint for some added detail. I also spritzed some Shimmer Spray over the top for shine. While those were drying, I stamped and colored the gnome using black ink and Copic markers. I used the coordinating Holiday Gnomes Confetti Cuts to die cut it out.

I used the Stitched Tag Confetti Cuts as the base for my gnome and greenery. The wrapping paper had a subtle plaid behind the gnome, so I knew this tag would be perfect with all of the stitching lines. It did get a little tricky to get the arc that the paper had because the tiny sprigs of greenery only bend one way, but I did my best! LOL! I added some red Nuvo drops to the centers of the berries on the larger sprigs and just added some here and there everywhere else.  I cut a 4 by 5 1/4 inch  piece of green pattern paper from the Winter Solstice 6 by 6 paper pad and sewed around the edges. Once that was done, I adhered it to a standard A2 Sand Cardstock base using Scor Tape.
I love the sentiments that are included in the Holiday Gnome stamp set, but I wanted something less curvy, so I opted to use one of the sentiments from the Triangle Trees stamp set. It is heat embossed in silver onto a black strip of cardstock. I adhered it to the card using foam squares. I added some red baker's twine to the top of the tag and a few sparkling rhinestones here and there. I think this card turned out just as cute as the wrapping paper and now I have it out of my system! LOL! Thanks for fluttering by!
