Reverse Confetti Summer Fun Blog Hop

Hello Friends! It's the 8th and that means it's going to be a busy day over here! Ha Ha! Today is the Reverse Confetti  Summer Fun Blog Hop!  I, along with the rest of the Confetti Crew,  have been happily putting together lots of fun Summer-y cards and projects to share with you today! I've been excited to bring some bright, fun colors back into my cards, just fitting for the season! The inspiration for this card was the Paper Bliss 6 by 6 Paper Pad! I definitely haven't used it enough and these bright yellow and orange patterns were calling my name!
Before I get started, don't forget to stop by the other designer's blogs!

I cut the yellow wavy piece to 4 1/8 by 5 3/4 inches. I wanted the white card base to be just barely visible around the perimeter. I did some machine stitching around the edges using white thread for some detail and texture. I layered the orange and white piece, which is  3 3/4 inch by 4 3/4 inch, on top of the yellow piece using a generous amount of foam squares for maximum dimension.

I used the Polka Panel Confetti Cuts to create an embossed piece using a piece of Stone Cardstock and a tan embossing mat. I love the detail it gives. I wanted the illusion of the circles, but felt the cut outs would make the card too busy! I love using my supplies in multiple ways to get the most from them.

Before I layered that onto the card, I die cut an offset circle just large enough to hold the sun, which I will tell you about next. The Stone panel is attached using foam squares as well.

I used the My Sunshine stamp set and coordinating My Sunshine Confetti Cuts to create the sun. I stamped the "hello sunshine" portion using Bumblebee Ink, the thin sun rays using Buttercup Ink and the wider rays using Sunshine Ink. I stamped them onto Polar White cardstock and then die cut them. I layered it all together using foam squares and then nestled it into the die cut circle!

I stamped two whales using Iced Aqua Ink. One is slightly different color than the other, only because I didn't clean my stamp well enough from the last time I used this little guy! I actually was only planning on using one, but I like how they look swimming side by side! These whales are from one of my favorite sets called Seaside! I also used the coordinating Seaside Confetti Cuts.

The anchor is also from the Seaside set and I embossed that in gold powder! I wasn't planning on adding anything else, but I really like the extra warmth and shine it gives the card!

I also added some sequins here and there! I just love how they look! Thanks for fluttering by!
