SugarPea Designs Release Week: Eskimo Kisses!!

*SQUEAL* I am SO excited to be participating in my first release with SugarPea Designs! I am sharing the first amazing stamp set in the new Sugar Pea Designs release! The set that I am showcasing today is called Eskimo Kisses and is beyond adorable! All of the links for the sets will go live at the end of the week! No automatic alt text available.

You should have arrived here from Becky's Blog. For my first card, shown above, I used Distress Oxide ink to create a Wintery skyline and background. I have seen some fabulous cards recently using large water droplets to mimic snow and I KNEW I had to try it. I love how it turned out. The critters are die cut using the coordinating Eskimo Kisses Sugar Cuts. I colored them with Copic and Prismacolor markers and added them to the card using foam squares. The snowflakes are an early sneak peek of some other fun goodies that will be shared later in the week! There is a generous amount of shimmer spray and Wink of Stella as well! LOL! The finishing touch is a scattering of Duck Egg Blue Nuvo Drops here and there!
For my next card, (because who could just stop at one?), uses more of the adorable images included in the set. These penguins kissing are just too cute! I'm a total sucker for great sentiments as well and this set knocks it OUT OF THE PARK in that department! The sentiments are so versatile and can be used all winter long...and depending on how you colored your images...all YEAR long! To begin, I created a line, to mimic the horizon line where the water and sky should meet, and sponged the sky in various pastel shades. The water is sponged in Peacock Feathers distress ink. I used Bristol paper for a smooth blend. I embossed the snowflakes, that are included in the set, in white and stamped a few in purple as well.

The icebergs have been embossed in silver and then die cut using the coordinating sugar cuts, linked above. I also added some Wink of Stella as well as some Nuvo Crystal glaze for some realistic shine.
The penguins have been colored with Prismacolor and Copic markers and then painted with Wink of Stella and a coating of glaze on their black feathers for that sleek shine that they have.

I added a foam square to the back of the penguins feet area and adhered it to the iceberg and then added two foam squares to the back of the penguins heads to attach them to the card. I wanted them to look as though they are floating on that sweet little iceberg.

The sentiment is heat embossed in silver onto a strip of purple cardstock and then added to the card front. A few premade dew drops finish the design off Join me every day this week as I share some new sets from the release! Thanks for fluttering by!

P.S. This is an incentive set that is FREE with a $60 purchase! I am falling more and more in love with stitched border dies and these ones are definite MUST HAVES!!! You will continue hopping by heading to Kerin's Blog! to see what she has come up with!
