A friend of mine asked it I could put together a baby gift collection for her this week. I couldn't say no, especially because it meant I could create something a little unconventional as well as something that I haven't made before. I post a lot of baby projects and I guess they can become monotonous. You can check out all of the sewn projects HERE as well as more detailed photos.

My friend sent me a photo of the baby shower invitation which was where the inspiration started for the rest of the set. I headed straight to the fabric store and picked out the quilt fabric which you can see in the previous photo. 


The layout of the greeting card was directly based on the layout of the invitation, which was nice because by the time I put the card together, I was ready to be finished. Ha Ha! The cute plaid paper is from a mini pad called "Lewis Family Vacation" by The Paper Studio found at Hobby Lobby. It was so perfect and accented the sewn projects better than I could have hoped for.

The cute bear diecut and stamp are from the PTI set "Baby Button Bits" and the sentiment is from "Bitty Baby Blessings". I have tried perusing the web to find a new baby set, but nothing is speaking to me so I guess I will just continue to use the same old stamps. The "Baby" letters were diecut from pattern paper and then I added glossy accents to the top. They are popped up on the card for extra dimension.

I really liked the way the "Baby's first Year" book turned out. I found the deer brad on clearance at Hobby Lobby and it is the perfect addition.

I found the baby animal buttons that I used as accents throughout the project at Hobby Lobby as well and they look so cute!

I love adding felt baby booties to all of my baby boy collections. You can see them all packaged up in a clear box embellished with some fun images and sentiments from PTI's "Bitty Baby Blessings". I used the last of my brown felt ribbon from SU! that I have been hoarding for more years than I care to admit. I thought it was too perfect not to use.

The booties were made from Kraft felt and chocolate felt. I really like the way the dark brown floss defines the outline of the shoes. 

I had so much fun putting this set together and it didn't even feel like work at all. I hope the recipient likes it! Thanks for fluttering by!

Where flowers bloom...

Where flowers bloom...so does hope. I love this quote...so perfect for today's cards. I mailed these out earlier in the week for a few dear friends! Both cards are {almost} identical. One just has a few more flowers to hide a {smudge...ahem}. LOL! I was immediately smitten with the "Garden Gate" Make it Market kit that was released last August by PTI. I knew it would be a "must have". I absolutely love using it! It's been put away all Fall and Winter, even though I saw some absolutely fabulous seasonal cards that made me itch to get it out. 

Today's designs are gate fold cards which are always fun, especially with this set. The latches were purchased at Hobby Lobby because I am currently hoarding the two that were included in the kit. 

I mentioned in my last post that my cards have been inspired by the book "The Secret Garden" and these more so than the previous! It is such a wonderful story! I'm smitten with the cover as well and it has me thinking of ways to incorporate silhouette images paired with heat embossing.

The wrought iron portion at the top of the gate was heat embossed using silver embossing powder. The gate was then split in half so that it can be adhered to the gate fold card base using "Mint Julep" card stock. All of the florals and sign were die cut and stamped using a springy bouquet of colors. I have the coordinating papers, but I am currently hoarding those as well. (shhh...)

I did splurge and use a piece as 
the backdrop for the sentiment piece. The sentiment is from "New Every Morning" and has a lot of fun and inspirational quotes and scriptures. A few crystal clear sequins finish it off! Thanks for fluttering by! Follow me on Instagram @kellylunceford

Happy Mail

Now that Christmas is over for the month {he he} I decided to embrace the amazing Spring that we are enjoying here in Utah. While today, and the last little bit has been rainy, we have been blessed with a most glorious beginning of Spring! My daffodils and hyacinths are blooming, with a few tulips well on their way! 

Today's card uses quite the potpourri of some of my favorite stamps: Post and Parcel, Graceful Greetings, Bitty Bouquets and Garden Gate. They are all by PTI and I just love the way I was able to incoporate them all into this Springy card!

The book I am reading for Book Club this month is "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett and it is no wonder I am creating these kinds of cards. If you haven't ever read it, I suggest you do so right away. My mom used to read it to my sister and I at bedtime when I was little so it holds a very dear place in my heart. It is the most perfect book to be reading at this exact time of year!

The "thinking of you" sentiment was stamped in Versamark ink and then heat embosses using gold powder onto a piece of Stamper's Select white card stock that was diecut using a Nestabilities die. I cut it so that it would lay diagonally across the "Pretty in Pink" card base that was dry embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder. The lattice "fence" piece was die cut using one of the fabulous dies included in the "Garden Gate" make it market kit from PTI. I had already stamped the Wisteria from an earlier project, which I will be sharing soon. It was the perfect backdrop for the "Aqua Mist" mail box. The mailbox is stuffed full of bitty bouquets stamped in some fun springy colors. A little bow of black baker's twine is the finishing touch! I had a lot of fun creating this card for a dear friend! Keeping Christmas { We "tissue" a Merry Christmas!}

It's the 25th and that means it is time for another installment of my "Keeping Christmas" series! I had so much fun all month long sewing and crafting away! Christmas seems to be a time for "punny" neighbor gifts,etc. and this is one of my favorite "punny" gifts to give at Christmas time. They are practical and useful, but cute as well. This is the type of gift that is perfect to give out at the office, book club, sewing group, circle of friends, teachers and more.

 Spring came early to Utah, but early in the month we had a most wonderful and unexpected snow storm so I jumped in the car and headed to my favorite fabric store and knew that this was the day to start! I picked up a nice stack of fun, festive fabrics, but nothing that was specifically Christmas. I want the recipient to feel like it is a useful gift all year long. I was careful to pick prints, colors and patterns that would work nicely with a Christmas tag, though. 

 Once I was home, I popped in a Christmas CD and got to work cutting the fabric. I have used the tutorial which you can find HERE. I have used this pattern in the past but lost the link when we switched computers. I was desperate to find it to include with this post and after some google searching I found it! It is a great tutorial that you will find helpful if you would like to make some.It is the same tutorial that I used for THESE including the cute joke she used!

 When it was all said and done...I ended up with 34 tissue cozies! 34! That's 34 gifts that I don't have to stress about come December!

You can see the fun assortment of fabrics that I picked out. 

 I packaged them up in cellophane bags with ribbon to compliment each fabric.

 34 tissue cozies means 34 tags....what? Yeah...I didn't quite imagine it being such an ordeal! LOL! Like I said before, I definitely couldn't have taken this much time during December! I diecut all of the tags from Kraft cardstock using a PTI tag sale die. I ordered 2 new ones recently specifically because I knew I would be doing a lot of tag making this year. I also diecut the word "Christmas" as well, but after about 18, I just COULD.NOT.CUT.ONE. MORE!!! LOL! I decided to just use a partial sentiment stamp with the word "Christmas". 

I used the "Christmas critters" stamp set that I got last holiday season but didn't get to use it as much as I was hoping. It got a workout for this project! Ha Ha! You can see all of the cute mice and their holiday accoutrements waiting to be assembled.The "we "tissue" a Merry Christmas" portion was computer generated and printed using grey ink to compliment the mice.

 I stamped the mugs, scarves, gifts and sweaters in colors that were reflected in the fabric to give everything a cohesive feel. The tags are threaded with baker's twine for a festive touch.

 The heart images on the mugs have some stickles for a sparkly touch that I just love, especially at Christmas!

The "Christmas" diecut was attached to the tag using a glue pen. I like using adhesive like that for tiny, detailed images. You an also see here how all of the colors work together.

Here is another shot of the tags and you can see the few that I stamped the word onto rather than the diecut. It think they are both cute and my sanity is saved! LOL! Birthday hugs and wishes

Popping in with a quick hello to share a birthday card I worked on yesterday! I've been working on a fun event for my church that will be taking place on Tuesday so I've been preoccupied with that. I decided to switch gears and get a birthday card made for a friend that will be celebrating next week!

The design was inspired by the gift sack that her gift will go in. You all know how much I love everything to coordinate. It is also a wonderful place to start if you're in a design rut, like I've been feeling lately. I've been so focused on this one event, I haven't let my mind deviate from that course. I decided to completely clean everything up and start fresh. I had a lot of fun creating all of the flowers. They were all cut from MFT dies and then assembled using hot glue. The card base was stamped using grey ink and PTI's polka dot basics set. The flowers were clustered onto a tag sale diecut tag from Mint Julep cardstock. I added so many flowers, it's a little difficult to tell it actually is a tag! LOL! I added a few buttons to the center of the flowers and some baker's twine to the top of the tag. A few Crystal clear sequins finish it up as well as a birthday sentiment from PTI!  Thanks for fluttering by!
