With sprinkles on Top!!!

My darling daughter just turned 11 and this is the card I made for her! I used my new "Shakers and Sprinkles" kit and it is much more fun to work with than I first thought. The papers worked perfectly with the colors of her birthday party.  I will share some pictures from that a little later on.

I used Monday's "Mojo Monday" sketch for this card and it worked out very nicely.  I thought the doily worked nicely with the "food" theme also.  As much as I wanted to make a shaker card, this particular sketch really wouldn't allow it. I really wanted the heart to hang over.  I used a little bit of stickles on the sprinkles diecut for some shine.

I was also pleased to use these fibers on the top that I have been hoarding for well over a decade. They worked nicely here.  My daughter loved it and that is what is important! I can't believe she is 11! THanks for fluttering by!

Thank you ever so much!

Well...I am supposed to be making invitations for my soon-to-be 3 year old's dinosaur party, but I wasn't feeling it. I decided to switch gears and make a card and tag for the chorister at church. Every week she brings beautiful flower arrangements with cut flowers from her yard to place on the pulpit. I always love seeing them and I appreciate her being willing to part with her beautiful blooms. I made a card to say thanks and then I will attach the tag to a cello bag with cookies.
This picture captures the true colors of the card better. I was playing around with some different settings on my camera and found the others to not be quite right.

My mother's day gift FINALLY arrived in the mail this week and it was the "Shakers and Sprinkles" kit from PTI! I was so excited for it to come and now that I have it, I am not as excited. Isn't that sad? I did, however, use the heart die that it came with for this card. I was trying to sleep the other night and this card just came into my mind so I had to create it. I used a couple of stamp and die sets to get it all put together. It really is simple card, but all of the little things took a while to put together.

For the inside, I used this sentiment because I thought it worked well with the "reason" why I was giving her a thank you on the inside (flowers...seeds)

You can see the tag here. I just used the inside portion that was left from the heart frame for the focal point. I used the same senitment as the inside of the card for continuity. I just love these colors. Thanks for fluttering by!

With Sympathy

I know I've said this before, but I absolutely hate needing a sympathy card. I don't usually keep any on hand...maybe because I hope I will never need one. Unfortunately, I did need one so I got to work creating this.  I used a Mojo Monday sketch from a week or so ago.  I wanted to make something that is bright and cheery and this paper is perfect!  I chose inks to create the focal image that matched as well as I could; between SU! and PTI I think I did a pretty good job.

I used that stamp set called "Lovely Layers" for the focal image and the sentiment is from a frame set. I can't think of the name off the top of my head. It is one of my faves though.  The ribbon is surprisingly from the dollar store; 6 yards of satin ribbon for a buck! I bought quite a few rolls even though this girl doesn't need any ribbon AT ALL.  I really, really, really like the color though.

I have 2 birthdays coming up so I will be making stuff for those and I will share later! Thanks for fluttering by!

Showers of Blessings!

It's always fun to make baby cards!  This particular card was inspired by yet another gift sack. The funny part is that I forgot to even take a picture of it with the gift sack! Silly Me!  I never would have made this card unless I took inspiration from the sack.  That is one of the reasons why I love this little challenge that I am giving myself. It makes me use things I don't normally use and then use other things in different ways. For this particular card I ended up using "Scattered Showers" and "Baby Button Bits" for the focal images and then a die for the word "baby".

The umbrella was diecut and then I added some diamond stickles to the center of each flower.  I also diecut the word baby twice; once out of the green and used the negative space and once again with the yellow to set it inside the green piece. I popped up the green piece to give it some extra dimension.

I colored the floral image using copics and then adhered the buttons using glue dots. The ric rac was diecut out of yellow felt and then stitched down with my sewing machine. I also used my color spritzing tool to spray a little yellow ink onto the sentiment at the top. I scattered a few sequins here and there to mimic some raindrops. They are iridescent in real life but show up a bit more pink here in the photos.

I used the green diecut that was left over from the front and glued it down and then added crackle glossy accents (on accident).  Thanks for fluttering by!
